Hi, everyone…it’s me, Sparky!
You might remember me as Lil Timmy, but when I met my person, Nathan, he decided Sparky was a much better fit. And I agree.
Nathan is an Army veteran, and when VCAS Cincinnati was looking for a dog to match him, there was one important requirement: I needed to be small enough to ride the bus in a carry-on kennel. Luckily, I checked that box.
I had only been at Cincinnati Animal CARE for four days when Nathan found me, and even though I was pretty shy and nervous, he had his sights set on me right away. It didn’t take long for me to realize that I had found my person. Within just a few days, I was cuddled up beside him on the couch and making myself right at home.
At first, I slept under Nathan’s bed. It was my safe little spot. Then one night, I stood up on my hind legs at the end of the bed and gave him a little whimper. I was basically saying, “Umm… can I come up there?”
Nathan had said I wasn’t going to sleep in his bed. But we all know who won that argument. Now, Nathan’s bed is my favorite safe place, and I couldn’t be happier to have a place where I feel completely comfortable being me.
From Lil Timmy to Sparky, I think I got pretty lucky.
